Graveyard

The idea that America is or may fail is something that most Americans can’t even conceptualize. I myself have a hard time with the idea. We are the epitome of success, even with all of our shortcomings.

Truly though I am concerned about our willingness and ability to sustain the fight against terrorism. So many are so upset with the death tolls. So many are just tired of hearing about it and want to move on to whatever normal is. I truly believe that the government has played into the hands of the terrorists in that they give so much attention to it. The media is just as much to blame with the sensational headlines, over hyping of non-events and the spin they always seem to put on things.

As the focus shifts from Iraq back to Afghanistan we must use great caution to avoid the pitfalls of the past to secure a more peaceful region. I am not sure that it can be done. So many vast differences: ideals, religion, education, human rights and the list goes on. I truly hope to be surprised.

Being marginalized

There is a fraccus about a birth certificate. Granted it is arguably one of the most important birthright discussions ever. It is interesting how much effort is being put on keeping something private for the most public man the planet currently has. In a position such as his it makes me wonder does thou protesteth to much? Maybe it’s nothing and he just wants to keep people distracted and this is a cheaper easier alternative to war(riiiight because we have some of that already) which has been used as a distractor before.

so the group of people that seek out the truth of the certificate are being marginalized as birthies as it makes them sound childish and immature to start off. makes it hard for some folks to take them seriously and i am sure that is part of the point.

Honor

This is the kind of thing that needs global attention. With all the crap and the garbage going on and around. To see a part of humanity that is willing to do this kind of thing really encourages others to do the same. Even if it doesn’t the knowledge that someone cares and appreciates the service of another is a huge motivation.

live free or die

Filed under: Political thoughts — bricepruitt @ 09:36

i haven’t traveled a lot but i can tell you in the little bit that i have and the massive amount of people that i know and work with from other countries. the US is a police state however there are still financial opportunities like no other place on earth.

from the people that i know from European countries and Slavic countries they do not want to go to stay in the US for the most part they are happy with getting their work visa and being a contractor on a US project.

the people that i know from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Philippines and others in that same socioeconomic bracket they would give their left nut to go the US to live and work. some would take whole family some would just send $$ home as they do from here.

freedom isn’t free. most people do not realize that it isn’t really a right to be free it is earned through vigilance and sometimes through violence

looking for trouble

Looking for trouble. An assumption of guilt. If it is a voluntary compliance that is being sought after then why are we hindering peoples travels?

i am sure that the majority of people are in compliance and move on their way with just a small discomfort of being interrupted. sadly those sheeple are making like harder for everyone.

just because it’s a legal ruling doesn’t mean that it’s right. that just means that the court said it’s okay.

fact is that the ’safety checks’ or whatever they are currently labeled are an intrusion.

fact is that once a police officer engages you in any contact you in today’s time must consider yourself under arrest until he decides you aren’t and allows you to leave.

the fact is they are at least 2-3 steps ahead in aggression just by having the gun, taser, knight stick, cuffs, armor vest and badge. at the onset of any engagement. otherwise police presence wouldn’t be a deterrent.

are all cops bad? of course not. are all citizens bad? not even close. are there a lot of situations that go bad because humans are invovled? you better believe it.

the people must stand. without standing together as we haven’t for a long time we will be completely powerless. we are close that point now. the people we elect are corrupted by money and power, for a long time they have not represented the peoples needs. the sheriff’s in Jacksonville are a great example of this. we are forced to choose between the perceived lessor of two evils. most of the time we are deceived and led astray.

Seriously

Guess it’s a good thing that the US military provides the right for companies to be completely non supportive. even of the military itself.

No support for their customers or countrymen

UPDATE:

Okay they tried to ship the watch and low and behold it has arrived in pristine order. Folks this is great. I am very excited and happy to see this watch it is even better in person than it is in pictures.

I love watches. Positively love them. There are some good values in watches to be had out there. Fossil is one. I have bought i think 4-5 fossil watches over the years. My best friend has been into Invicta watches for a while and has tried to get me to buy. Well i did. bought one off of a website i found sharkstores.com and another from amazon. now both of those places shipped straight to me no problem. I found on the Invicta website they have a deal thing called the Sunday Run. I sign up. Watch comes along that I really like they list it MRSP $595 sake for $89.00 + 0.01S/H. I buy the watch. Next day $$ is gone from account. Then I get the emails listed below. I gotta tell ya I really like Invicta watches. Alot great quality good fit and finish nice movement good designs.

Understand that I work in logistics and have for most of my adult life in one capacity or another. I have never not once made any one shipper an exclusive point of service as there isn’t one that can truly do it all.

granted i am just a contractor but if they won’t ship to APO/FPO then they wont’ ship to the soldiers sailors airmen or marines and that is the biggest load of bullshit i have seen in a long time. it’s not like they are standing on a trade agreement or similar import/export complication. no instead they are to effin lazy to use the USPS.

at this point i will not buy another of their watches from anywhere you folks make your own choice as to what you will do. regardless of war or peace this company won’t send to the military at all through the APO/FPO. funny thing is that UPS will send they charge more but they will do it and when they do all they do is drop it into the USPS mail stream at a designated point.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your time in placing an order at the Sunday RUN. Unfortunately, the address that we have is incomplete. Would it be possible that you forward your complete US physical address?

Best regards,

Roxana,

That is considered a US address. All mail is handled by the USPS and the US military mail systems. As i am working on a US controlled base.

Kevin,

I understand but unfortunately we send the package UPS not USPS(Regular Mail). I will speak once again with our shipping department to see how much it will cost to send this UPS. I will keep you posted.

Best regards,
Roxsana

Kevin,

I confirm with our shipping department and they advise me that they are not able to send it by USPS> It has to go by UPS because we if sent it by Regular mail and it gets lost we are not in charge of that, in the other hand we do not want to take the risk. I apologize for the inconvenience about this.

* You don’t have an alternate address?

Best regards,
Roxsana

Roxana,

In the agreement i made with Invicta upon purchase shipping would be $0.01 there was no mention of exclusions for APO/FPO addresses. Also the billing/shipping information system accepted the information without hesitation. Which is in general an indication of doing business with an APO/FPO address. If the watch cannot be shipped per the original terms then there is no need to ship it at all. A full and prompt refund will be in order. This situation of even hasseling someone over seas that is serving this country at all is down right distasteful and will be noted. Which is really a shame because i really like Invicta watches and many of my collegues are really interested in purcahsing but now with this potential lack of support and regard I seriously doubt that will happen.
